graduation... junes
hmm... long time no update... well, went to june's graduation today at davis... it was hot as hell.. probably about 90 degrees outside... didnt help that i was wearing black trousers, brown shirt and tie... graduation at UCD reminds me of my graduation last year, oh so fast, one year.. UCD students are pretty crazy... not only do they bounce beach balls, people were throwing hella flour tortillas... the boring ass chancellor was talking, people were throwing so many tortillas that the chancellor cut his speech short.. that was pretty cool.... i remember going to my cousin andy's UCD graduation maybe six years ago, that shit was HELLA long... junes wasn't two bad, the ceremony itself was only about 2 hours, but we had to wait 45 mins for it to get started... oh yeah, this ghetto asian guy was throwing streamers and playing cards out.. which is ok, except that HE wasn't graduating... what a jack ass... went to eat dinner with june and her folks... sacramento has a real lack of authentic chinese food, hence, anything halfway decent is equivalent to so so chinese food elsewhere, and if it really is good tasting chinese food, you overpay for it. So we go to this place called Frank Fat's, its in downtown Sac, looks hella ghetto outside. Inside is pretty dark.. all the wait staff is black, white and mexican! There's only a couple people that work there that are chinese... i've never been inside P.F. Chang's but i think its the same idea here... so we get the fathers day special, which is NY steak, honey walnut prawns, garlic shrimp, fried rice and banana cream pie. For like $22 a person. Dude, the NY steak for five people wasn't 5 steaks, it was like one big steak, cut up.. so everyone got four mouthfuls of steak... food was above avg, but portions were SOOOO SMALL. for $100+!!!! What a fuckin rip off... i know june just wanted her dad to have a good meal, and yeah, aint shit for choices for chinese food out in sac area.. by the way, whats up with too much MSG in chinese food... june and i went dim sum on saturday in the only decent dim sum place in sac (cost ME $27) and afterwards, i fell into a 2 hour nap/coma induced by MSG laced dim sum. At least i won $80 at the new casino up by sac playing blackjack (i played all of about 5 minutes ... 5 hands, won 25, won 25, lost 50, won 30, won 50)... that just covers food and gas... | | Thursday, May 8th, 2003 | | 12:03 am |

lack of fast twitch muscle fibers...
for those of you dont know, there are two types of muscle fibers.. slow twitch: go forever, but not very fast. fast twitch: go fast, but little endurance. I have basically ALL slow twitch.. which doesnt help when you're playing pick up basketball in oakland, with teenage thug asian boys. Arrgh.. so slow!!! I need to get in better shape, and get faster. ok, a real update
shit..... ok, where to start. Last friday night, went clubbin... first time in a while. You can see pics of me, my girl and friends at the club on my cuzin steevay's LJ. Anyhow, it was pretty cool.... cuz i was 1/2 way drunk most of the night... juno made me dance.. it was ok, so many people that it got hella hot. Anyhow, leave the club at about 2.30 AM, and turns out some muthafuck broke juno's window and took the shit outta the backseat of her car... that was a bummer. Smoked a doobie for the first time in a couple years... i got fuckin lit!!! We were at the diner, and i ended up ordering just a cup of soup, cuz i forgot what i originally wanted... dropped some saltines up in my soup, and due to my distorted, slower perception, by the time i turned around to my soup again, the saltines had turned into malt-o-meal. Shit. Anyways, got home at about 5 AM. Still felt after effects of the mary jane the next day... So sunday, i go to junkyard with juno to get a car window to replace hers. This junkyard is a do it yourself outfit, and we didn't bring any tools. I end up prying out a window from a totaled volvo, using a metal rod and a pocketknife i find on the ground, plus a monkey wrench i borrow from some dude. The window costs $26 (compared to i assume, $100 and up at a car dealer or glass place) So we go to Stockton to get it put in by a friends dad. My homeboy Ed, lives out in a place where his yard is so damn big, this fool has GOATS in his yard. So we go to his neighbors yard (where they have like 15 goats) and try to "herd" in a baby goat. ahhaha... we had to separate the baby goat from the rest of the herd. That little goat was hella strong man! Lil piece of shit is like all muscle. When i picked it up, it bleated at me hella loud "bwaaahhhhhh" scared the crap outta me. yeah... eventful weekend eh?? Making people as lost as myself
hmm.. i was just at the gas station, and this mexican dude came up to me, and asked if i spoke spanish. He needed directions to the 580 fwy (east or west, i dont know which) and it was sooo hard to communicate. Man.. maybe i shoulda paid more attention in junior high. I hope that they end up getting to where they were going.. if they take 580 the wrong way, they're gonna end up in Los Angeles. Oh yeah, afterwards, i realized that the directions that i gave them were much more complicated than they had to be. Cal States.... fucking DUMB
Ok, woke up at 7am this morning... to get to a 8.30 am test at SFSU... called the JEPET (junior english proficiency test) don't ask me why i gotta take it, i just do. Plus it cost me $20. K, so i went to bed at 3 am, so i wasn't in the best of moods. I sit down to write my essay, and its not too bad... just bullshit on why gambling is good or bad. We have 90 minutes to do the essay. I finish this shit within 45 minutes, and I ask the proctor, can I leave? The proctor asks some other lady, who comes in and writes me a note that says "you leave, i void your test".. i was like what the fuck??? I asked, "can i read a book?" she replies, you can put your head down. I was like , fuckin bitch!!!! I'M DONE. FORTY FIVE MINUTES, i just sit there fuming. So i was like fuck it, wrote these punk ass bitches what i thought of their state bureaucracy on my "scratch paper" i'm sure they'll read it. I was thinking of writing that shit in my actual blue book, but those hos might have "graded" it and failed my ass, thereby wasting even MORE of my time. goddamn. Uh.... regret of the day: eating three krispy kreme donuts.. i had an urge for a donut... but three of them was a bad idea. I gotta cut out the damn impulsiveness... one wouldve been enough. Strange thing too, I was at albertsons, and in front of me in line was this big white boy who looked hella familiar. I realized I used to work with him at Lucky's (albertsons) as a bagger, like freakin six years ago when i was still in high school. I wasnt' staring at him, but i noticed this fool was looking at me. So he turns to me and goes "hey, did you used to work at luckys?" I'm like, yeah, your names Dan, huh? How the hell did i remember his name? WHY do i remember his name? Damn, wasted memory, thats why i dont do as well in school.... anyhow, bs bs, whatchu up to , job market sucks, etc. Ok, then i pay for my donuts, and ask the checker for $2 cash back. The dude behind me is all "two dollars? just two dollars? not ten dollars???" i'm like, dude, i need to pay toll for tomorrow. Whats the big deal?? Checker says, yeah my son would do somethign like that. He doesnt like to gamble either.. she told him to put a $1 down, her son did, and won $2,000. Go figure. Aint that some fucked up shit... SNOWBOARDING @ NORTHSTAR
so yeah, today went up to northstar with homie brian... i didn't really expect to go, cuz of the rainy weather. Anyhow, get up at like 7:30... get to northstar at about 12pm. Northstar is a big ass resort in Lake Tahoe, pretty much more for skiers than boarders. But its a nice resort. My goal today? To fricking learn how to turn to my toe-side, meaning i gotta learn how to go left. We go on an intermediate run, and its not going well. Then we find an "easy" rated trail, and its hella long. I start gettin it, FINALLY. You have to understand, i've taken up this snowboarding hobby since 2000, so this is my FOURTH SEASON. I've probably gone ten times now, and just today, I FINALLY can turn both left and right, and brake. Oh yeah, i did fall, and now i'm going a lot faster, so the falls are crazier. This one fall, my arm was in the air, and I heard my neck pop hella loud. Wtf?? my neck doesnt hurt though.. the balls of my feet were hella hurtin though, from tryin to get up on my toes to go left. I dunno... i'm hella happy. This is something i've been trying to get better at for hella long, and i've finally made a significant break thru.
